What goes into the art of adapting or remixing an existing story, either for the same medium or a different one? Should adaptations always be as faithful as possible, or should they *not* try to be too faithful? Do bad adaptations "ruin" the original? How do these answers vary, considering different original creators can have very different feelings about their work?
